Devin Booker scored seven consecutive points in the final four minutes as the Phoenix Suns stunned the Houston Rockets 102-99 on Saturday night at Mortgage Matchup Center.
Booker finished with 24 points, breaking a 95-95 tie with a basket before adding a three-pointer and another score to give Phoenix a 102-95 advantage. Houston could not recover, as Kevin Durant missed a three-point attempt in the closing seconds.
The victory ended Phoenix’s eight-game losing streak against Houston and gave the Suns consecutive wins for the first time this season. They improved to 3-5 after beating Orlando on Thursday.
Durant led the Rockets with 21 points and 10 rebounds against his former team. Amen Thompson added 17 points, while Fred VanVleet scored 16. Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun each finished with 15.
Phoenix also received 16 points from Jalen Green, while Miles Bridges recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dillon Brooks contributed 11 points, and Khaman Maluach scored eight off the bench.
The Suns dominated the opening quarter, shooting 76% from the field (16 of 21) to build a 35-23 lead. Their advantage reached 19 points in the second quarter before Houston responded with a 22-3 run to tie the game at 47 at halftime.
Phoenix struggled offensively during that stretch, making just four of 19 shots in the second quarter. VanVleet scored 10 points in the period, including the jumper that tied the game with less than a minute remaining before halftime.
The teams remained close after the break, with Phoenix taking a 76-75 lead into the fourth quarter. Houston briefly drew level at 95 before Booker took control with his decisive scoring sequence.
Booker also reached a personal milestone, playing in his 745th career game and passing Steve Nash for third place in Suns franchise history. Phoenix shot 48% overall, compared with Houston’s 39%.
The Rockets fell to 7-3, while the Suns secured their first back-to-back victories of the 2026-27 season. Houston hosts Denver on Monday, while Phoenix welcomes San Antonio.
