Nikola Jokic reflects on how NBA basketball keeps changing

Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic believes the NBA will continue undergoing significant changes over the coming years, pointing to the different playing styles he has witnessed throughout his career.

The Serbian center shared his thoughts after Denver defeated the Toronto Raptors 128-109, with Jokic recording 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in three quarters.

Having entered the NBA in 2015, Jokic has watched teams adjust their offensive and defensive strategies, including changes in how centers are used.

“Since I came here, I think basketball changed like four times,” he said. “I think in five years, it’s gonna change some way too.”

Jokic’s comments came as he discussed the declining emphasis on traditional low-post basketball, which he believes has become more physically demanding because of the way defenders are officiated.

Despite those changes, the three-time MVP continues to thrive as a center who combines interior scoring with exceptional passing and playmaking.
