NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin Durant have shared their all-time starting lineups, selecting five players and a head coach to lead their respective dream teams.
O’Neal chose a lineup featuring several of the NBA’s most accomplished players, including two of his former Los Angeles Lakers teammates.
The four-time NBA champion selected Magic Johnson as his point guard, Kobe Bryant at shooting guard, and Michael Jordan at small forward.
Karl Malone earned the power forward position, while O’Neal selected himself as the team’s starting center.
For the coaching position, Shaq picked Phil Jackson, who guided him and Bryant to three consecutive NBA championships with the Lakers from 2000 to 2002.
Durant, meanwhile, took a different approach, choosing a combination of versatile scorers, defenders, and former NBA MVPs.
The veteran forward selected LeBron James as his point guard, with Tracy McGrady at shooting guard and himself at small forward.
Durant completed his frontcourt with Kevin Garnett at power forward and Hakeem Olajuwon at center.
For his head coach, Durant chose Steve Kerr, under whom he won two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
The two selections feature no overlapping players, although both lineups include several Hall of Famers and NBA champions.
O’Neal’s team brings together Jordan, Bryant, and Johnson, while Durant’s lineup emphasizes versatility with James, McGrady, Garnett, and Olajuwon.
