The Oklahoma City Thunder have emerged as a potential destination for Sacramento Kings wing Nique Clifford, with Tim MacMahon identifying the rookie as a trade candidate for the defending champions.
Oklahoma City is dealing with major injuries to Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace, both of whom face lengthy absences after undergoing or preparing for surgery. Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula, while Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
The injuries have increased the need for additional depth on the wing, and Clifford is among the players linked to Oklahoma City by MacMahon. The 24-year-old is in his second NBA season after appearing in 75 games for Sacramento in 2025-26.
Clifford averaged 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 25.1 minutes per game last season, shooting 41.8% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
His role has been limited early this season, with averages of 2.0 points and 0.3 rebounds in 6.8 minutes across four appearances.
Oklahoma City has also lost Wallace, who averaged 6.3 points and 2.3 steals in the supplied 2026-27 statistics, while Williams had posted 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three games.
Wallace recently signed a five-year, $139 million contract extension, making his absence a significant loss to the team’s rotation.
