Former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas revealed that Allen Iverson was the one player from his era he never wanted to defend, citing the former Philadelphia 76ers star’s relentless energy and offensive ability.
Arenas, who faced some of the league’s best scorers during his career, explained that guarding Iverson presented a different challenge compared to defending other elite players, including Kobe Bryant.
“Allen Iverson. I don’t want to guard Allen Iverson. Kobe gives you 60 and talks you through your mistakes, but Allen Iverson has a motor that doesn’t stop. 60 feels like 60, and then he doesn’t even celebrate.”
