The Utah Jazz have agreed to sign free agent guard Kobe Bufkin to a two-way contract, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report and The Stein Line.
Bufkin was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday after failing to secure a regular-season roster spot.
To accommodate his arrival, Utah is expected to release forward Blake Hinson, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The 23-year-old Bufkin was selected 15th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft but has appeared in only 43 games over his first three NBA seasons, partly due to injuries.
He previously played for the Atlanta Hawks and spent part of the 2025-26 season with the Los Angeles Lakers before joining New Orleans on an Exhibit 9 contract in July.
Bufkin has averaged 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 10.2 minutes per game during his NBA career.
However, he impressed in the G League last season, averaging 24.8 points, 4.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 24 games for the South Bay Lakers, earning All-NBA G League Second Team honors.

Meanwhile, Hinson averaged 11.9 points in 14 NBA appearances for Utah last season, shooting 46.8% from three-point range. He also averaged 23.5 points in 32 G League games.
Bufkin is entering his final year of two-way eligibility and will be permitted to appear in up to 50 regular-season games for Utah.
If his contract is finalized Wednesday, he could earn a prorated salary of $674,980 by remaining on the roster through January’s league-wide salary guarantee deadline.
Hinson will become an unrestricted free agent Friday if he clears waivers.
