Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has emphasized that winning remains his main priority despite the franchise’s disappointing results in recent seasons.

Speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area, the two-time NBA MVP discussed how injuries and missed games have affected Golden State’s ability to compete.

“Last year, I missed 40-whatever games. Availability was the biggest theme, and we’re still one game away from getting to a playoff run and who knows what happens. So, all that to say, I’ve had a really amazing career and journey. I want to win. All the other chatter doesn’t necessarily matter to me in terms of how I grade our seasons.”

Curry acknowledged that the Warriors were close to securing a playoff opportunity despite their injury problems.

The 2022 NBA champions have faced difficulties returning to the top of the Western Conference, but Curry remains focused on pursuing another title.

The veteran guard recently signed a two-year extension with Golden State, keeping him with the franchise as it prepares for another attempt to strengthen its roster.

With more than $50 million in projected salary cap space this offseason, the Warriors could have an opportunity to add players around Curry and improve their competitiveness.
