LeBron James has pushed back on a report claiming he confronted Philadelphia 76ers teammate Joel Embiid for arriving late to a recent team practice.

The story was mentioned during Monday’s preseason game between the Sixers and New York Knicks.

During the MSG Network broadcast, Mike Breen shared information he said he had received about an exchange between Philadelphia’s two stars.

“I had somebody tell me before the game that they were out ready to practice, and Joel Embiid walked out onto the court a couple of minutes late, and LeBron let him hear it,” Breen said.

According to that account, the team was already prepared to practice when Embiid arrived on the court several minutes later.

James, however, disputed the story shortly afterward. He posted a graphic about the reported incident on his Instagram Story and added a cap emoji, indicating that he considered the claim false.

“He ain’t been late so stop the lies,” James wrote.

No further details have emerged to support the reported exchange.

James is beginning his first season with Philadelphia after joining the franchise during the offseason.

While he and Embiid previously played together for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, they had never been NBA teammates before this season.
