Coby White will not appear during the Charlotte Hornets’ preseason schedule after suffering a left calf strain during training camp.

Charlotte announced White’s injury on Monday, ruling the 26-year-old guard out for the remainder of the preseason. His status for the beginning of the regular season was not specified.

White’s absence adds to the Hornets’ early injury concerns.

Kon Knueppel is also currently sidelined after sustaining a hamstring strain, leaving Charlotte without two players as it continues its preparations for the new campaign.

White joined the Hornets during the offseason, signing a three-year contract worth $74 million.

The preseason was expected to give him an opportunity to become more familiar with his new teammates and the team’s system before games begin to count.

Charlotte is scheduled to start its regular season on October 21, when the Hornets travel to face the Brooklyn Nets.
