Noah Clowney could return to a reserve role with the Brooklyn Nets after starting 60 games last season.
The 6-foot-10 forward is entering his fourth NBA season, and improving his outside shooting will be important as Brooklyn evaluates his long-term role.
Clowney showed some promise from three-point range as a rookie, making 36.4% of his 1.4 attempts per game at age 19.
His efficiency has declined as his shooting volume has increased.
Over the past two seasons, Clowney has connected on 33.1% of his three-pointers while attempting 5.8 per game.
During that same period, his overall field goal percentage has fallen to 38.2%.
Becoming a more consistent shooter could therefore be an important part of his development this season.
Clowney’s rookie-scale contract runs through 2027, giving Brooklyn another season to evaluate his progress before his current deal expires.
