The Golden State Warriors have signed center Jacksen Moni to a training camp deal, according to HoopsHype on Thursday, September 17.
Moni returns to the Warriors organization after spending the 2025-26 season with the Santa Cruz Warriors. He appeared in 40 games, averaging 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 23.6 minutes per game.
The center shot 35.5% from the field and 32.7% from three-point range, while also converting 70.4% of his free-throw attempts. He added 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks per game.
Before joining the professional ranks, Moni spent three seasons at Northern State before transferring to North Dakota State for his senior year.
His production took a significant step forward during the 2023-24 season at Northern State. As a junior, Moni averaged 21.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 29 games while shooting 47.4% from the field.
He then moved to North Dakota State and averaged 20.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 27 games during the 2024-25 season. Moni shot 50.8% from the field and 40.8% from three-point range, while making 83.7% of his free throws.
Across his senior season, he played 30.3 minutes per game and averaged 2.4 turnovers, 0.5 steals and 0.4 blocks.
Moni now faces a different challenge as he competes for a place on a Golden State roster that already has several frontcourt options. Kristaps Porzingis averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 15 games last season, while Al Horford posted 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 45 appearances.
Charles Bassey is also under contract after signing a partially guaranteed one-year deal. Draymond Green, who averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 68 games last season, remains another important frontcourt piece.
Golden State also lost Quinten Post during the offseason after declining to match his three-year, $26.1 million offer sheet from the Memphis Grizzlies. Post averaged 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 67 games for the Warriors in 2025-26.
The Warriors enter training camp following a relatively quiet offseason. They made no trades and spent significant time exploring a potential move for LeBron James and an Anthony Davis trade, but neither opportunity resulted in an addition.
Instead, Golden State retained much of its veteran core while retaining Porzingis, Horford and De’Anthony Melton, among others. The team also selected Yaxel Lendeborg with the No. 11 pick in the draft, with the Michigan forward subsequently earning Summer League MVP honors.
