The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed guard Jules Bernard to a training camp deal, according to HoopsHype on Thursday, September 17.
Bernard enters Minnesota’s camp after producing at a high level for the Iowa Wolves during the 2025-26 G League season. He averaged 22.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 45 games, while playing 34.0 minutes per contest.
The former UCLA standout shot 41.9% from the field, 33.2% from three-point range and 79.9% from the free-throw line with Iowa. He also averaged 1.1 steals and 3.3 turnovers per game.
Bernard’s 2025-26 campaign continued a productive stretch in the G League. In 2024-25, he averaged 19.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 29 games with the Cleveland Charge, shooting 44.2% from the field.
His best G League season before that came with the Capital City Go-Go in 2023-24, when he posted 20.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 34 games. Bernard shot 45.8% overall and 35.8% from three-point range that season.
Bernard also has NBA experience. He appeared in 19 games for the Washington Wizards during the 2023-24 season, averaging 3.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 7.8 minutes per game. He shot 45.3% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range.
Before turning professional, Bernard spent four seasons at UCLA. His production increased throughout his college career, culminating in a senior season in which he averaged 12.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 35 games.
The Timberwolves enter training camp following a major reshaping of their roster. Minnesota finished 51-31 last season before losing in the second round, then acquired LaMelo Ball in a four-team blockbuster that sent Julius Randle and Naz Reid out of town.
The Wolves also added Jonathan Kuminga on a two-year deal, with the 23-year-old expected to join Anthony Edwards, Ball, Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert in the starting lineup.
Minnesota also re-signed Ayo Dosunmu on a five-year, $112 million contract and brought back Bones Hyland. The roster changes have left limited financial flexibility after the Kuminga signing used the taxpayer mid-level exception.
