The Dallas Mavericks have acquired the draft rights to French small forward Melvin Ajinca from the New York Knicks.

This trade involves sending the draft rights to Ariel Hukporti (58th overall pick in 2024), the rights to Petteri Koponen (30th overall pick in 2007), and cash considerations to the Knicks.

Ajinca, 20, comes to Dallas after showcasing his skills in the French top division, LNB Pro A, where he averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24.7 minutes per game this past season.

Melvin Ajinca has a connection to former NBA player Alexis Ajinca, who is his cousin.
