Charles Oakley commented on Joel Embiid’s emotional displays, suggesting that as a big player, Embiid should refrain from showing vulnerability on the court. Oakley expressed his belief that injured players should stay home and watch games on TV instead of being visibly upset during games.

He compared Embiid’s behavior to crying and stated his previous prediction about Embiid potentially becoming a dominant player like Wilt Chamberlain might not hold true if he continues to display such emotions, suggesting he could become known for something else entirely.

“If you’re hurt, stay home and watch it on TV like everybody else is doing,” Oakley said. “I don’t want hear this… He’s too big to be crying. I’m sorry I said about two years ago, he could be the next Wilt Chamberlain. I don’t know. He could be the next Dunkin Donut or somebody because he just cry.”
